Social media is proving to be one of the most effective advertising methods to promote properties for lease and for your Real Estate Company. Like many of you, checking social mediums for information, sourcing products and checking in on friends, acquaintances, competitors, and celebrities takes up a huge part of my working week.

It seems almost everyone is using this avenue for many different purposes. This includes potential clients. I thought it might be useful to let you know some valuable stats that I have researched which may help guide you to better use of social media platforms to promote your business.

1. 93% of marketers use social media for business

The costs associated with a strong social media plan are considerably less than a traditional marketing campaign, as well as reaching a wide range of the market. Try a social media service or free online resources via blogs and videos to help you market and promote your company.

2. Fastest growing demographic on Twitter: 55-64-year age bracket

Social media is no longer limited to teenagers and young adults. The age bracket of 55-64 year olds is a perfect market mix to target for the purpose of growing your property management portfolio. This age group of people often have investment properties to be managed.

3. 25% of consumers using social media expect complaint responses within 1 hour

88% of consumers are less likely to buy from companies that ignore complaints and questions that they post on social media platforms. It is very important that you monitor any feedback that is posted or sent to you about your company on any social media resource that you use. Instil a sense of urgency to respond to any feedback. Remember if the consumer is taking the time to contact you they are giving you the opportunity to win them back if they are dissatisfied, or if they are posting positive feedback a response of gratitude is very important.

4. 52% of shared content comes from Face book

Remember each post is an opportunity. And your tenants are often your best brand ambassadors—leverage them as fans. Always make sure posts are interesting and offer the respondent something. The offer doesn’t have to be a tangible item; it can be advice, information or entertainment.

5. Companies generating 1,000+ Face book likes receive nearly 1,400 daily website visits

Build your likes and friends. Remember that they have friends as well, and those friends have friends. An increase of your brand awareness will result in an increase of new business.

6. 189 Million of Face book’s users are “mobile only”

The market mix that you are targeting is on face book throughout the time. They are not waiting until they reach a personal computer, or sit at their desk and use a work station P.C. So many people are checking posts and messages on their mobile devices during the day. It is such a powerful source when you can post information and it can immediately be seen by whoever is checking their devices at the particular time.

7. Other stats….

  1. Every second two new people join LinkedIn.
  2. Social media has overtaken porn as the #1 activity on the Web.
  3. LinkedIn has a lower percentage of active users than Pinterest, Google+, Twitter, and Facebook.
  4. Even though 62% of company’s blog or plan to blog in 2013, only 9% of U.S. marketing companies employ a full-time blogger.
  5. 25% of Face book users don’t bother with privacy settings.

Hop on the Communication Express, stopping all stations to a Social Media Station near you. If you haven’t already started using social media in your business.
